What is your running "origin story?"

I began running only about 3 years ago, over the age of 40. Why?

It was a way to keep weight off that I had lost. I want to be here and healthy for my family for a very long time, but I sit down all day at work, so I needed something to get me moving. I am not a fan of the gym, and running outside in the morning helps me to get a fresh start to my day.

Also, I love running with my husband. Running is sometimes very hard for me. He motivates me to keep going and stays with me to encourage me, even when I slow him down! We try to go for a run (mostly trails) together on the weekends. For fun, we started running races regularly after we got married in 2022, and together, we have run more than 20 races! (Mostly with Terra). :)

Best/worst/funniest memory from a race?

We ran the Ace the Race run at Carter's Dam in GA last year. That was such a difficult hill to climb but the run down was so fun, and the scenery was beautiful!

Why do you choose to represent Terra Running Company as an Ambassador?

Really, we enjoy the races they have for the community.

What are your favorite 3 items in Terra?

Running Shoes, Trail Shoes, and Coffee!

Favorite place to run/walk/hike in the area?

Johnston Woods and Enterprise South

What shoe(s) are you currently running/walking in?

Hoka Bondi 8 - Daily runners, Altra Lone Peak for Trails and New Balance Fresh Foam X 1080

What advice would you give to someone who is thinking about running or becoming more active?

Most of my life, I have sat behind a desk for work. I was never an athlete and I was not active at all. I started running, just a little at a time, and slowly built up my endurance. Running has brought such an improvement to my overall health. Some days it is hard to get up and run, but I know in the long run that consistently remaining healthy and active will allow me to enjoy a longer healthier life with my family.
