What is your running "origin story?"

I went from couch to Marathon in 2010, and then dabbled with running off and on over the next several years. In 2019, I realized I had gotten really out of shape and decided that needed to change. I started back with the couch to 5k program at the beginning of 2020, and then the world shut down. I ended up using that time to lose over 100 lbs. and start training for longer races. Since that time, I've completed a dozen half marathons, a marathon, and have gotten into trail running. Hoping 2025 will be the year of the 50k!

Best/worst/funniest memory from a race?

My worst will always be realizing I was nowhere near a bathroom at mile 22 of my first marathon. I ended up losing one of my favorite shirts in the woods.

Why do you choose to represent Terra Running Company as an Ambassador?

Even though I don't live in Cleveland, Terra is my local store by choice. From using the Terra Girls Facebook Live videos to keep me motivated during lockdown, to driving to Cleveland every Monday for the Trot, I feel like I have found a community. While the store is great, the reality is that these are friends who feel like family. We've been through podiums and injuries, personal achievements and losses, and all things in between together. This is a tight-knit group, and I want to be able to help others find a place like this in the running community.

What are your favorite 3 items in Terra?

LMNT, Altra shoes, and Goodr glasses.

Favorite place to run/walk/hike in the area?

Bauxite Trails or Johnston Woods.

What shoe(s) are you currently running/walking in?

Torin 7 for road and Timp 5 for trail

What advice would you give to someone who is thinking about running or becoming more active?

Just get started. It seems intimidating - believe me, I know. But once you take that first step, go to that first class, or whatever it is that interests you, you will get past the fear of the unknown, and you will have something to build on.
